KIS (Keep It Simple)
Scoring System
Games Resulting in a Draw
Each player will score 1 point for every centre they hold at the termination
of a game. Each player is also awarded 2 additional points for survival
in a declared draw. Where a player is eliminated after 1905 they will
receive 1 survival point.
18 Centre Victories
If a player gains an 18 centre victory then that player is awarded
34 points (instead of 18) and all losing players in the game are given
points equal to their final centre tally divied by 2 except for players
who finish on 1 centre, who will receive 1 point. No survival points
are awarded to the winner (18 centre victory) or surviving losers of
a game. However, players eliminated after 1905 will receive 1 survival
point.
Tournament Results
At the end of the tournament scores for each round will be added together.
The player with the most points will be declared the winner. To separate
players on equal points at the end of the tournament, the following
tie-breakers will be used:
- The player with most wins.
- The player included in the most drawn games.
- The player with the better 'best' game.
- The player with the better 'second best' game.
- The player with the better 'third best' game.
If a condition cannot split two players then the next condition is
used. If two or more players cannot be split after using tie-breakers,
then they are considered to have finished equal.
Comparing Games
Games will be compared in the following order for tie-breakers and
best country awards. If a condition cannot split two players, then the
next condition is used.
- Win beats Draw beats Elimination beats Loss.
(Therefore a game where a player loses will be considered below an
Elimination or Draw, even though more tournament points may be gained.)
- Points from game.
- Position finished in game, based on centre (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc).
(Note an equal 1st is considered behind an outright 1st but ahead
of a 2nd. Also, the more players finishing equal the less it is worth,
eg, equal 2nd with 2 players is better than equal 2nd with 3 players.)
- If both eliminated, longest survival based on supplier centres held
in Fall.
- Highest score when subtracting the score of the player finishing
1st in the game.
- Same for 2nd to 7th (zero used for eliminated players).
